Over 200 vintage Jaguar cars gathered at the Royal Naval College in Greenwich, last weekend for the 16th annual London to Brighton Jaguar Run. You can see a slide show of images from the day in full resolution here.
I was down at Buckingham Palace 3 years ago on the evening before the Royal Wedding. There was an incredible atmosphere in London that evening and I captured some photos of the crowds which are still available on Flickr. You can also review the images in the slideshow below.
As a photographer, one of the joys of living in London is being able to shoot London’s popular tourist attractions in the late evening after the crowds have gone. This shot of St Paul’s was taken late on Tuesday while walking back from the Tower Bridge and City Hall shoots.
Saas-Fee is a wonderful old village in a stunning location in southern Switzerland. With its high altitude glacier and an elevation range from 1800m to 3500m, Saas Fee is usually guaranteed snow right to the end of the season and beyond. The village first became a tourist destination in the nineteenth century and many of the old buildings are still in existence today. The resort is not known for having the latest infrastructure and there is an unusually large number of T-bar lifts and very few chair lifts or gondola’s. The gondola’s that are there date from the 1960’s and […]
Sometimes you need to get creative in using the Camera on your mobile device when Skiing (even the iPhone). Colour rendition and contrast tend to be poor and under exposure (caused by the camera’s exposure meter misinterpreting the white snow) is a frequent problem. Something you should try is to place your glasses or goggles in front of the camera lens. The results will of course vary depending on the colour of your glass filter but the outcome is usually far superior to the unfiltered version. This shot was taken at about 3,800 meters on the slopes of Saas Fee […]
Tomorrow we head to Saas Fee in Switzerland to catch the last snow of the season and today, as ever, I’m in the middle of my “what kit to bring” deliberations. Travelling with bulky SLR’s and Red Ring Lenses is never easy, and on the slopes of Switzerland its more likely to end in disaster given my unpredictable skiing skills. So this season I’m opting for portability and will be using an EOS M with the 22mm Prime (which is tack sharp and far superior to the 18-55mm kit lens). For fun I’m also bringing a GoPro Hero 3+ 🙂 […]
